The REAL Jamaica

If you are unfamiliar with life in Jamaica you will quickly realize upon your arrival that Jamaicans are very easy going people. Jamaicans don’t rush anything and are generally laid back people. They often tend to follow their own “Jamaican time”, which means that you shouldn’t be surprised if Jamaicans show up two hours late for an event. If they are having a party at 10 PM, everyone will show up around midnight. They’ll party until 7 AM in the morning and show up at their 9 AM job at around 11

The Homerus swallowtail or Jamaican giant swallowtail (Papilio homerus) is the largest swallowtail butterfly in the Western Hemisphere and the largest species in the genus Papilio with an average wingspan of about 15 centimeters (5.9 in) The butterfly can only be found in forests in Jamaica and is under significant pressure from habitat loss

Despite the ubiquitous posters of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh with burning joints dangling from their mouths, marijuana is still illegal in Jamaica. Besides that, the stereotypical image that everyone in Jamaica is high all the time isn't true either. Only a few of them are high sometimes ;)
