Saturday morning we would be leaving at 7:30 AM to go to Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios. I woke up at 7:00 and wanted to get ready, but Robyn was still asleep and it was really quiet in the house. Around 7:30 Robyn woke up and I started to hear some noises in the house. We got ready, ate some breakfast and waited for Unika to get ready. It was almost 9 o' clock when Unika told us that Javier's father could not take him for the day (and we had planned not to take the children to Dolphin Cove). Since it was quite late already and Unika preferred not to take him on the bus all the way to Ocho Rios, we decided that it was best to go to Dolphin Cove on Sunday and go to Treasure beach on Saturday instead. We took two taxis to the beach, in the first one we had to sit with 4 people in the back and in the second one even with 5 people (Yes this was really crowded, but that's just how they do it in Jamaica, which is also the reason why there are no seatbelts in the back of the taxi). We reached the beach around lunch time so we decided to eat some pizza before we went into the water. With view on the beautiful and quiet beach we ate our pizza slices and I fetched Unika over to get into the water as well. She told me that she couldn't swim but she would get into the water with us anyway (as long as we would not go to deep) The sea was really clear and warm, but also full of tickling seaweed haha. It was a little windy so there were quite some waves as well. But I really liked it in the water and I was glad that Unika came along with us in the water since we had some really good and fun conversations with her. At some point we all got out of the water and Robyn and I laid down on our towels to get a tan. Unika however, covered herself all up in her towel since she didn't want to get a tan, and trust me she did. It was kind of unfair to see how even she got tanned and Robyn and I stayed as white as could be. We laid on the beach for a while until we realised that Robyn had fallen asleep. Unika and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to build a nice sandcastle on her back. Unfortunately she woke up right at the point where we were building the towers (hahaha just kidding), but she didn't get mad. Then Javier came running up to us, he had been making new friends at the beach and had played with them all the time, but now he had caught a fish and he definitely needed to show it to us. We then decided to take a shower, get changed and wait for the taxi to drive back to Mandeville. Again we took two taxis, but this time they were less crowded. When we got to Mandeville town, we bought some Ackee & Saltfish since it was almost my last dinner in Jamaica, and I really wanted to have some more Ackee & Saltfish before I left. We bought the Ackee and the seasonings at the local market where there was one seller who was being cheeky against a police officer. Thanks to him, all the sellers had to gather their stuff and leave (since they were actually not allowed to be there). All that the officer asked the man was to move back a little so that a car could pass, but because of his brutality towards the police officer, everyone now had to leave and they would all be left with their products that they could now, not sell anymore. We bought the Saltfish in the supermarket and got into a taxi to drive home. The taxi driver was a really nice guy and he had a very comfortable car, the best we had so far. Unika therefore asked the guy if he was willing to drive us to Ocho Rios the next day, and luckily he was!! When we got home, Unika prepared dinner and we ate it together. It is such a pity that we don't have Ackee & Saltfish in the Netherlands, because it's so good! We discussed the plan for Sunday, talked some more and sat down in the living room in front of the television before we went to bed.
